iGaming Idol is an award show that goes against the norm of awarding gaming companies. Instead, the spotlight is on the recognition of exceptional individuals working within the sector. iGaming Idol’s inception was back in 2016, at the Malta iGaming Seminar.
The event comes in the form of a Gala dinner, where charitable organisation will also be given a 10% of the proceeds, from each ticket sold. The prestigious award show acknowledges talent in the iGaming industry centring on three pillars:
An even like this may as well be considered incomplete without an accompanying red carpet. The award show is the first employee-centric event of its kind, allowing people to nominate managers or colleagues who they think merit the award.
Individuals nominated have to prove themselves before a panel of three judges all of whom are specialists in their fields. The process will be audited by the consultancy company BDO Malta. The nominees may be rewarded in ten categories which are:
1.Tech & Marketing
4. Compliance and Regulated Markets
5. Data and Business
8. Live Casino
9. Fraud and Risk
10. Customer care.
Three finalists from each category are shortlisted and receive invitations to the Gala dinner and the award show lures a huge audience that needs to book a table to attend. The tickets are thus limited and sold on a first come, first served basis.
The 3rd edition of the annual event will be attracting hundreds of attendees, who will be convened at the Intercontinental on 26th September 2018. The leading sponsors for this year’s event will be Videoslots.com.
The Malta Gaming Authority has been a supporter of the event, since 2016, the year of its launch. Malta Gaming Authority is the single self-governing, regulatory body accountable for the governance of every gaming activity in Malta, whether land-based or online.
This year’s attendance will double last year’s event, having an expected 650 attendees. There will be twenty one different categories, for employees representing an array of different departments, from Marketing and SEO to Fraud and Payment, to name but a few.
Additionally, there will also be an award to recognize the person with an exceptional contribution to the industry, along with awards like ‘CEO of The Year’ and ‘Employer of The Year’, who’ll be chosen by the employees of the particular iGaming companies.
The organizers of the 3rd annual edition of the iGaming Idol announced hosting events on a monthly basis, prior to the main event. Events will comprise of educational as well as social networking functions. What’s more, there will be an HR Forum, to bring major players in the iGaming industry together, to discuss significant issues focusing on recruitment and retention.
The tickets are very limited, so if you’re interested, it’s best to be an early bird buyer! 450 seated tickets and all tables are already sold out, since iGaming companies have already chosen to buy complete tables for their candidates and employees.
The event organizers are targeting to raise over €20,000 on ticket sales and more fundraising activities in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund.
